| I remember Ricky Davis said he had come up with the idea of putting metal hex instead of the Allen bolts on the tuning rods for rack and barrel buds. Where can they be found.. |

I needed some rods for an R+B Sho-Bud, rather then try and find the original type rods, here is what I did; I made some short nylon hex tuners and screwed them very tight on the rods. Then I used a normal 3/16" tuning wrench on them. It worked fine. Here is a pic:

| Fellas, coincidently, 10-32 does line up in diameter and pitch with M5 fine thread. I'm not sure why but I found this out when researching possibilities for pole pieces in the pickups I made. It's kinda like some cosmic gift as there is no technical reason it should. |

Yes pictured below is the idea I had and John Coop made it come true. The metal hex end is (I can't remember some kind of heat epoxy; or silver solder) affixed on the end of a 1/8" stainless steel rod. You can use a regular 3/16" hex driver; tuning wrench you would use for your nylon tuning system; to turn the rod/barrel. The rods of course are still in my LDG and no end has ever popped off and NEVER will again..>best thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately Coop died and so that's all I know. I'm sure some of you genius guys knows where to get that end and how to stick it do the rod.??

Well, sumpin' gotta be the same sooner or later. In the other post, I showed a pic of a 10-32 male going into a 5mm .8 die. It worked OK, but a little loose.
For just the opposite, I did not have a 5mm male screw, but trying that size tap into a 10-32 nut seemed awfully stubborn. Do you know if it will actually work OK like that in reverse? |

| It's certainly possible Jerry they are not quite exact. I was threading 5mm dia by 16mm long steel pole pieces into Delrin plastic tapped 10-32 with not trouble though. |

A few drops of Super Glue in the end of the hex nylon tuners screw on as tight as you can.Thats what I did on my old SHO-BUD never had a problem.
