Several years ago, I became interested in lap steel after playing Dobro. I did some research by reading some very positive posts here on the forum about Melbert lap steel and ordered one from Bob. Couldn't be happier when I received it.
Since then, my interest in lap steels has grown. Bought a vintage Gibson Skylark lap steel which was nice but to my ears, the Melbert sound was just so clean sounding in comparison. When I decided to get another lap steel so I could have another tuning, I considered another vintage lap steel but decided to purchase another Melbert lap steel instead. Bob has made a few subtle changes since my first Melbert lap steel but the craftsmanship and the sound I wanted are still there.
I just wanted to thank Bob on the forum for my second lap steel. I think his work deserves it.

Good Company
John,
Congratulations on your second Melbert! As you said many very positive posts here on the forum. I myself have a 6 string and an 8 string and while I doubt ever having a "need for more" if I was in the market Bob would be at the top of the list to call.
