Billy, make certain the project is saved before making the edit.

Use the vertical 'play' cursor to play to the start of the phrase, or use your mouse and/or direction keys to manually move it to the start of the phrase to be edited.

MAKE SURE the 'play' cursor is located correctly. Then hit the 's' key on your keyboard (s = slice).

Now move the 'play' cursor to the end of the phrase. Hit the 's' key again.

You have now isolated the unwanted part. Single left-click this isolated phrase to make sure it is the 'active' selection. Then hit the 'delete' key.

Clear as mud?

If you're not sure you want to delete the section. You can just turn its volume down to zero. To do this double-click on the section you've just sliced and you'll see the volume slider.

Billy, it's always wise to save the original before editing it, that way you can always get back to the original tracks if need be.

Always save a copy of the original, or at least I do, I think it just good practice.
