Topic: Copying/fabricating a control plate for console steel |

I recently got a Rickenbacher console steel, but someone had removed the bridge and drilled holes behind the original ones and the bridge is out of place, one of the panels/plates is intact. What can I do to have the intact plate be replicated? I am unfamiliar with this kind of stuff. Could I have someone make a wooden plate? Or If I know someone w access to a CNC does that help?
This is a rickenbacher console steel with teh toaster pickups not the horseshoe....

Jonathan,
Try to post a photo of what you've got, and a photo of what it should look like. If it's a simple, flat plate of metal or wood that only needs to be cut to shape and some hole made, it should be pretty easy to replicate. I'm sure someone on here will be able to either make it, or steer you to someone who can.
So far, I haven't found any photos on the net of a console with toaster pickups. I assume this is one of the later models. Plenty of knowledgeable Rickenbacker people her on the forum. |

Knowing someone with access to make one on a CNC would be the easy & quick way.
Not to muddy this up, but if the holes someone drilled in it could be covered by a slightly longer plate (or plates, to match them) that may be an idea to consider.
Like said, some pics would help a bunch ! |
