This is my third arrangement reaching for a Pedal Steel sound on a Lap Steel. As in my first two songs I am using an eight string set up with F# and Eb on strings 1 and 2 so that it looks like this way as explained previously: F#--Eb--G#--E--C#--B--G#--E

This would be a great entrance tuning for a student
biding time to get a pedal steel for financial reasons or otherwise; and if you never got a Pedal
Steel this set up could last a few life times. It's a great challenge.

Email me if you wish help in getting started. Visit my ClicTab Web Page as noted below for more information.

I sure did enjoy that. Are you selling any tabs or guides? I went to your site but didn't see anything regarding this tuning specifically.

Thanks Iestyn!
I have the tabs for this song and two others that I have put up on the Forum using this tuning. Am working on putting a short course together which will include the three songs and some familiar pedal steel sounding licks. It should be ready by early June. Smile

That sounds really good.If I didnt know it was non pedal I really would believe that was a pedal steel.

That sounded pretty darn good Roy.
After playing pedal steel for 15 years, I have switched over to non pedal, but I miss some of those pedal sounds. I like your approach...Jerry

Sounds good, Roy. I think you're breaking new ground here and it sounds like you're having fun with it. Keep up the great work.

Thanks fellow Formites!
Today I am playing E9 Pedal Steel for
instruction purposes and it is no problem
switching from the E9th non pedal used for
this thread.
They relate really well and offer a better
understanding for me in regard to both modes
of playing Steel Guitar. I can steal ideas from
one tuning to the other.
I appreciate the input here.

Roy

Thank you Bill! I am working on an instructional CD and Tablature, licks plus 3 full arrangements incorporating this method. It will be done by early next month.
Your interest is appreciated.
