Late 30's early 40's Gibson A style EG-7354 Mandolin. Sounds great and is in good condition. Just a few battle scars but nothing major. $1500. and I will ship in lower 48. Nice hard shell case. This is a good one guys ! Reduced to $1200.00 ! !

William has this mandolin ever had any major repairs by looking through the F holes. No buzzing from the strings from the fret board. How did you come up with it being from the 1930's to 1940's. Is there a Gibson label that can be seen in one of the F holes stating S/N and location of where it was built. I almost bought one until I looked inside to see a repair made with ice cream sticks with Elmors glue drizzled on the hole repair. Did not buy that one.

Hi Thom , The Number EG-7354 is stamped on the back of the tuning head. No pop-sicle sticks in this one. If you want to takl about it call me personally at 704-490-6469. This is a great sounding instrument for sure. Call me.....

Hi,
I saw a previous post, FYI the EG serial numbers were only used in 1939. I used to have one of these also, and there was no label inside as Gibson frequently left those out of a lot of their instruments during this time so I wouldn't sweat that. It's an early version of the the A-50 with F holes (earliest had an oval hole, and I've had both) , and this model was changed in the postwar period. Hope this helps your sale. I'd be interested except then I wouldn't have an excuse not to practice mandolin again. Gibson only had one location for manufacture in the 30s and for many years after that.
