One of Hawaii's fine golden era steelers has his 'Olohena Wailua Homestead' CD available for a mere $10. Ernie can be reached at home to speak with and order from (evenings after 5:30pm Hawaii Time is best);
Ernest Palmeira
5863 Olohena Rd.
Kapaa, Hawaii 96746
(808) 822-3264

This is a rare opportunity to own sweet steel music from one of the best ever from far away Kauai.
As Don Kona Woods mentioned in his blog: HSGA board should invite him as special guest for upcoming HSGA convention in Honolulu, May 2013. And there's still enuf time for such a well deserved honor for this mid '80 performer who has given much of his life towards making the beautiful Hawaiian music we love so much.

I'm so happy to hear Ernie put out his cd.
He has been at it for a long time on Kauai.
I'm looking forward to hearing it.

Ernie has cut several CDs, we live a mile apart and jam weekly...he'll be 83 this July and still plays at the airport monthly and gigs several times a month. He also is plays a Stringmaster he bought new in 1954! He raises cattle and goats on Olohena road..Larry Very Happy

It's great that he's got jamming partners, Larry, maybe we can convince him to join/post up so we can get the scoops straight from a Hawaiian steel veteran of a different time and place.

Ron, I've been buggin him for15 years to go teach Hawaiian Steel at our Community college...he's a Hawaian treasure for sure... I can't get him to go to The west side for a gig much less Honolulu, but him and his gal friend make it to Vegas 3-4 times a year!! If you Guys put the pressure on maybe he'll go. Another local multi talented steeler here, Jess Montgomery attends and we could get him to drag Ernie there...Once a week we play all the JB B11 tuning tunes, Ernie nails them and sings them all. His brother Wally and his wife Paulette have been playing together for 50 years and have a lounge named after them called "Wally's" at the Hukilau in Kapaa....Larry Very Happy

Larry, his g-dotter AJ provided that number and says he can be reached, but I can easily imagine your take to be equally accurate.

Nice shot of Ernie, Larry, thanx, that's how we'd like to see him.
I spoke with Don Woods at the HSGA Kap Park gig and he might put some effort into getting Ernie special recognition at the next one. Fingers crossed.
