A GREAT BIG Thanks to you!

THANKS to Mr. Muller for his belated explanation about WHY there were no photo's of the latest steel guitar gathering at his estate this past week.

Bob, you're the GREATEST!

I do have a few photos here from the Dallas trip that I took. I saw a lot of new and interesting things, and meant some of the people that I have always heard of. I will try a jam here again next Tuesday night, hopefully we will get a good turnout. That will be Tuesday, April 2, hope to see everyone then.

Hey Mr. Muller: Great job with the photo's! I knew you were capable and most likely had taken a slug of photo's. T'was happy to provide you with the necessary motivation just to print them here.

Many thanks to you.

A Happy Time was had be all!

Post by Ray Montee »

Another festive event occurred last night at the estate of Bob Muller and a fun time was had by all.

Guests included Larry Behm, Jerry, Gordon, Josh, Shannon, Storm, Bob himself and another gentleman whose name I never got, was on standard guitar.

I'm sure Bob will be posting photo's of this group as soon as time permits. I just can't understand why more local players aren't taking advantage of Bob's hospitality. It's a great place to gather and play music. It's super deluxe clean and no smoking rules apply with plenty of easy access parking.

And, where else can an aspiring steel guitarist go and have the opportunity to sit down and play virtually every kind of steel available? Bob has a wide assortment of fully functioning Sho-Buds, Emmons, MSA, Rickenbacher and Fenders and he most graciously invites you to sit and play them.

Hope to see more of you attending these events in the future. It's informal, come as you are.

We had a great gathering last night, a big thanks to all the folks who attended. Larry made an appearance to get us started in the right direction for the new tunes for the big Portland steel jam. In general we covered a lot of music, visited, and had a good time.

Pete, the boxes would be full of a few thousand CD's. A bit of an ongoing sorting project, having a fire sale if you need CD's.

Tuesday nights practice jam was a great success again this week. We went through the playlist for the big Portland jam, and played some other great old songs. We had good attendance and a lot of fun. Josh brought his latest new acquisition, a very nice lacquer finish Mullen guitar with 9 pedals and 9 knee levers. Shannon also brought a beautiful hand inlaid mandolin that she got at Dallas. Dave Grafe showed up to play some great licks for us on the Emmons. Hope to see everyone again next time.

This is the front of the mandolin, the back is even more beautiful with tons of inlay, somehow we missed getting a photo of the backside.

Nice photos of the Mullen and the mandolin, I do hope you can show us a shot of the beautiful inlay work on the back of that mandie.

I have to say right now that we're a very lucky bunch that can get together and have this much documented fun on a regular basis, thanks to Mr. Bob Muller and his roomful of music and Kathy and her camera :P

Sadly I must announce that I will be abandoning this long-running and excellent post at this time. I have started a new post under the following heading:

Portland area Steel Guitar learning and Practice Jam

All further correspondence referring to the Jam at my place will now be posted under this heading.

Thanks to all for your past and continued response to this Jam.
