Wow...
Just saw this thread! I have a S.O. in black, and just love it. I can't PLAY it, but I do LOVE IT!
This new guitar looks really nice, too.
Congrats to Doug on another fine product, and as always, first-rate customer service!

Thanks Mike! We miss seeing you around Branson.
The Encore may be some of Bruce Zumsteg's finest work.
He put a tremendous amount of work into designing the undercarriage such that it would play like a pro ZumSteel, fit within the space allowed, and be simple and economical to produce and assemble. This is the kind of work he did when he was working in industry doing design engineering before he started building guitars for a living. When it all seemed right on paper he built the prototype parts and guitar with his own two hands and tweaked things where necessary before production pieces were manufactured. It all works beautifully and fits like a glove. The detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for assembly procedures he produced are very much a work of art. Can you tell that I have a whole bunch of respect and admiration for the guy?
I have put several Encores out the door with different setups. From customers reports so far it is hitting the intended mark. It's a high performance no frills guitar offered at a reasonable price to the working musician.
Be sure to say hello whenever you come through Branson again Mike! I hope you are getting along OK.

Bruce was a great guy before he started building guitars and that comes through his work! I admire him a lot myself! You, of course, are right there alongside him in the guitar building and the good guy status as well!!! I have a lot of respect for both of you guys!!!
If I stay in Illinois this year, I will be starting more than a few students on steel guitar, so you will most likely be hearing from me and hopefully receiving orders!!!
I havent seen every "starter" steel thats ever been built, but in my opinion, the Zum Stage One, Stage Two and Encore are the best I have ever seen!!!
Thanks!!!
Michael T.

James, I don't know who made the pickup but it is a very clean, clear humbucker. Roger, I have been talking with Doug a while on this guitar and I think he already had a cabinet ready for when I placed the order. I think he just about had it built because he knew I was going to order it. This one is serial number 0014. It plays just like my D10 Zum, very solid stance, no side movement at all, plays like a much heavier guitar. Braydon has only seen photos as he lives in Tulsa but I know he is going to love his new "Encore".

Jerry: That's been my experience, too. How can it feel so stable yet weigh so little? I admit that, before mine arrived, I was slightly anxious about the possibility that I'd be chasing this guitar all over the stage but that's simply not a factor.
I have the single-coil - and I like it so much (especially through my new Roland 80XLs) that I'm pondering trying the same pick-up in one of my LeGrandes.

Jason, Braydon's Encore has the half stop on the 2nd string with a very definite feel of the D note. It also has the split on the 6th string. The changer is triple raise and triple lower so it should be able to make any change that any other all pull can make. **As an added note I received this guitar for my Grandson yesterday and set it up and played on it about an hour though it is Emmons setup and I play Day setup. I pondered it, went back and played it some more and sent Doug an email ordering one for myself! It is that good.

Can someone point me to a single site with specs, details and pricing? Can't find it anywhere, not even on the StageOne website.
