Today on the TV Show "Tha View" they had the cast of the TV Show "Nashville". Who was the steel player with the group, could not see him very good it was dark on the stage?
He played a Carter I think.
Thanks
Larry

I was wondering the same thing. Definitely a Carter D10. He was covering some baritone guitar parts on the low strings on the C6 neck and played some sweet simple parts on the E9. Good looking derby hat.

Here's a screen capture, but the video quality is so piss-poor I don't know if anybody will recognize him. Between the hat and the beard he had a lot of camouflage going on.. Oh Well

That's me. I've gotten to do a few sessions for songs on the "Nashville" show, on steel, harp and keyboards. We flew to NYC and I they let me carry that D-10 (in a light fibre case) onto the plane where it fit into the storage hatch! I also got to carry it down a long tarmac - not fun. I've since bought a new ETS from Al Brisco and love it. My next fly steel gig will be easier. Thanks for noticing me!

Nice playing Jim and cool gig.
Who was the guitar player? Liked him a bunch, too.

Hi Dave,
I'm happy to say that I've known Colin for many, many years.
He truly is a gifted, yet humble player, songwriter and producer whose talents have been enlisted by all kinds of artists and luminaries.
Aside from his studio session, tv and film work, he can also be seen and heard as an artist in his own right with Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.

Dave, I see that you're from Seattle. I used to know a steeler there named Chris Middaugh. He played with Annie DeArmas (Rose & The Dirt Boys) and Ron Bailey ("R.B.") This was in the 70's. Did you ever know these folks? ....or One Hand Clapping, which I played sax in?

Jim, Chris is a good friend of mine as well as Ron Bailey. Chris moved to Scotsdale, Arizona a few moths ago for a job with Fender.
I'm putting on an all Merle Haggard night April 11 and Ron Bailey is one of our featured guests.
I remember seeing One Hand Clapping back n the 70's. I played in Lance Romance from '78-'80 and I remember we would have been playing a lot of the same clubs.
Cheers.

Being a Canadian musician, I'm obviously familiar with Colin Linden. Trivia: he wrote "Remedy" for The Band's '94 album Jericho.

I have a bit of a connection with him. He produced an album in '95 for a songwriter with whom I had co-written some songs. About 5 years ago I introduced myself to him going through security at Pearson Airport, and he said in a friendly tone, "Yes, Chris, I know who you are." I was humbled.

Sorry for contributing to the off-topic topic here. Wink
