Sounds like fun,Country Jack.I'm off that weekend and I may just make this show.Let me check with my wife to see if anything's going then.

As you know,I had big plans to be a good country steel player(ha ha!)but the Lord has His hands on me and it looks like He has redirected my plans.I can't argue.

Jack, Having played gospel music for many years and traveling with a Christian Country Band, this appeals to me. What area of the state is the location for this event? I live one hour north of Dallas,Texas on I35.

mornin' paul;
this is in southeast arkansas, due east of dallas. come hwy 82, to the intersection of hwy 65 in lake village, arkansas, turn left and it's 17 miles north on the right.
or, head north on I-30 and exit right on hwy 270 at malvern, the next exit past malvern/hot springs, go east tp pine bluff then south on hwy 65 thru mcgehee and it's on the left, just past the american inn, at the hwy 165 intersection.
or, east on I-20, stop in monroe, louisiana and visit the duck commander and all roads will lead from there.
thanks for asking. we'll be lookin' for you there.

had several request for update information, so, here goes.....
this early in the process, there are 5 committed steelers and 6 back-up musicians. 2 piano, 2 guitars,2 bass and several singers have offered to be there, on-call.
so the interest is there, the venue is excellent and exited. this will be good!
by the time the push gets underway we anticipate that this will be an anual evnt.
so be a part of the first of the first........if you can make it, ...come on down!

the management is getting exited about the upcomming
show and are making preparations to make ahe steel players welcome. i have been asked by several players about the possibility of a friday nite, tune-up get together. if there is enough interest from players, this is a possible pre-show extra.
any feedback? just say the word.
historic, kvsa, 1270 am radio, is now our flagship station and will advertise the show as well as play, steel guitar featured gospel selections, so if you have c.d.'s, even mp3's and wish airplay, now is your chance.
just say so and i will get back with directions.

Hey, Jack, It's wonderful that you're going to have this Gospel Steel Guitar Show. I wish I could join you and play but it's quite a distance from where we live. And on top of that, I've had a slight stroke and it has impaired my playing ability. I don't think anyone would like to hear me play, but I hope you have a good turn out and folks receive a great blessing as you lift up the Lord Jesus Christ. My wife and I have a Gospel DJ program on steelradio.com and we'll announce your steel guitar show, if that's alright with you! God bless!!

jeremiah,
that is great of you to offer and yes, you have my permission to make mention on your show.
i do understand the distance and i wish you could be there. i think this venue really fits this type of exposure for the steel guitar and it's master and its' all for the master.
we wish to invite any level of player to paticipate
...by the way admission is free and a love offering will be accepted that will go to help the players bridge the gap.
down home goodness, climate controlled, soft seat comfort, arkansas hospitality and homemade cornbread.
y'all come..... country jack

Pete, I sent you an email about the 'steelin the Gospel' show at the shed. Did you pm Country Jack about a slot yet? I'll be glad to drive to Camden and help load your stuff, if you'll come and play.
Just say the word, and I'll be there.
