Emmons D10 Lashley LeGrande II Pedal Steel Guitar 4 Sale

Post by Brian Hoffman »

Hello,
I am a 1st time poster here as I was recently directed to this forum luckily. I have an uncle who recently passed who was an avid, life-long musician and I have taken the task on of selling many of his belongings. One of the items I found among an entire room full of instruments and sound equipment at his house is an Emmons D10 Lashley LeGrande II Pedal Steel Guitar that I am selling here. I am not familiar with these, so I apologize in advance as I don’t have a ton of detailed information to provide as I have seen in many of the other ads posted for similar pieces. Hopefully the pictures will answer many of your questions, as unfortunately all I have is what I could find on the piece itself or in the case. What I do know is this:

• Serial Number: 1782L (I’m assuming you could get the year from this?)
• All of the legs and Pedal Rods - 8 of them are included and in good shape
• It comes with a very nice case
• The guitar is in very good conditions with no major dings, defects or otherwise – it looks sharp. The only scratch I could find is small, and on the front near the Lashley LeGrande emblem – other than that, it shows little, if any signs of wear. My uncle was meticulous in the care and maintenance of all of his musical equipment and I’m confident in saying this piece was no different
• It looks to be a lacquered, reddish colored wood with lots of shiny silver all over – again, all in good shape

This piece is at my house in Kansas City, and anyone who is genuinely interested in purchasing is welcome to come out anytime to take a look or I am happy to take & provide specific pictures & shots of it if needed at your request. If you have questions that you could help me find the answer to on the unit itself, I am happy to try and find the answer for you as again, I don’t know much about this piece unfortunately.

In looking at similar units on this site & others, I am asking $2,500 obo – all serious offers will be entertained. I think (??) it may be worth more, but since I cannot provide more specific, detailed information on the unit I think this is fair.

Many thanks for looking and any help you may be able to offer here. If there are any questions I can help with, please don’t hesitate to let me know & I’m happy to help if I can. It’s a beautiful piece and would love to put it in the hands of someone who can appreciate it.

I think it's priced a little low of average but it's such a pretty guitar. I still want it.

Hello All,
Thank to all for your interest. I never imagined I would receive 40+ PM's & e-mails on this piece. I wanted to let everyone know that this unit SOLD early Friday .

I sold this based on the “1st come, 1st served” methodology which is the only fair way I could come up with. I received several messages indicating that they would pay me more than asking if I would just sell it to them but have passed on those as well in order to try and do the right thing and honor those who offered 1st at my original asking price - in the order they said "I will take it".

I made this available at the price I did due to the fact that as I mentioned, I am not familiar with these, and so could not provide many of the details & specifics I saw provided in other posts so I wanted to be fair & be able to feel good about it.

I tried to respond to each & every PM or e-mail I received and believe I did, but if for some reason I accidentally missed one of them, I sincerely apologize as that was not my intention.

Best Regards, --BH
