Does anyone have any idea how long it takes when you order a new Zum from Bruce?

4:49am ??? Since you're getting older and in your prime, you're probably just waking up instead of just getting home?
A new Zum? #$^@! I suppose Kirk and Curtis will need a drool cloth. Maybe Bruce will throw in a Zum drool cloth with the guitar? Now I see why you were commenting on the finish designs last weekend. A new guitar is better than a woman sometimes.
In 1983 it was like conception (down payment) and gestation (9 mo). My baby turns 20 this year.

Last August, Bruce quoted me nine months - that means a Happy Event here at 'Rettig Towers' in about May...

It'll be a D10 and in plain black (to match my Emmons...)

I can't wait!

Dennis, Maybe he was up that early cause he was out shopping for a new wardrobe. Mark, get a rosewood one. You know, I just thought maybe you could get Bruce to build you a Harley one.

Chrome one? I guess that would fit with the term Steel. Rosewood is very pretty and is toward the top of the list. I am not that fond of blue but I fell in love with Hugheys' Zum last week. Can't tell you here what happened to me but it definately had physical effects!! Image Now I just need to replace some skivies and sell a few guns, then perhaps I'll order a new one.
[This message was edited by Mark Kelchen on 01 March 2003 at 08:17 AM.]

Bruce told me about two months ago to plan on 8 months. I bought a used Rosewood D10 and is the best playing guitar I have ever owned. I saw John Hughey's about a month ago at a show here in town and I'll have to say his new blue lacquer is the most beautiful guitar I have ever saw.

It really doesn't matter about how long you wait. However long it is, it's worth it.

I agree they are worth the wait. You can see my blue lacquer Zum on Ricky Davis' House of Wood. It is near the bottom of the page.

No where can you find one with a $72 neck switch though!!! Makes a huge difference in playability by golly. Mark I have some extra boxers with the seat blown out from last weekend if ya want 'em. Image

Dang...I really wanted to go to that show last weekend. Ended up having to work because some moron downloaded not one but two viruses, and a worm, from Kazaa. Do not EVER use that site, its an incubator for virus! FWIW, the computer was FUBR; we had to format the hard drive and start again.

Now I'm getting upset about missing what I heard was a really good show all over again! Rats!

Thank you, Mark. I'll have to look at the map and see how far that is. Maybe we should get together some time, we're only a couple hours apart.

Well, I did it. Sent the check to Bruce and got on the list for a new Zum. Bruce said he is currently 40 guitars behind and turns out nearly one per week, so he estimated nearly a years wait. I'm sure the wait will be well worth it.
