Congrats Mike. I heard Mike play on the Friday night opry to night. He backed Jeanne Seely on What a Way to Live. Super break never heard Mike play better. This is a well deserved honor.

I would like to congratulate Mike on his win. Very much deserved.

For those of you that do not know Mike, I can tell you he is one of the nicest human beings I have ever known. He will stand and talk to a fence post with no time limits for hours.

What I really notice about Mike, he is sincere. No forced smiles, no acting, just Mike.

When the day comes and we are all too old to play like we once could, Mike Johnson will not only have the memories, he will have many friends.

You Da Man Mike! I’m happy for you.

Thank you guys so much. I hadn't heard anything about it when my brother Mark called and told me. I was in shock! It is so cool to just be nominated. But to win this thing is really an incredible feeling and honor.

God has blessed me in so many ways. Not only to get to do what I do, but to meet so many great people along the way. Including all of you.

Thanks Bob for the post, and all the nice comments from everyone.
Sid thanks for the wonderful strings you make, your incredible playing and for being my friend.

Congrats Mike! We are so happy for you. Well deserved, indeed. And, Yes Larry, one of the finest solo's on the Friday night Opry. "The one and only Tommy White". Vince was ill, so Tommy was in his chair, both night's. Enjoyed Terry Crisp, with Skaggs, too.

Many times on the Grand Ole Opry intermission, between the live shows, they will play taped appearances from old Opry shows. I've played that song with Jeannie many times and she usually makes mention of whoever is playing the solo. I just assumed that was what Larry had heard. They also sometimes play those previous performances after the live portions too. Tommy even called me once and said he heard me on one of those.

I was suppose to sub for Tommy this weekend and he was gracious enough to let me off to go see about my Mom in Alabama. Tommy White is one of the most incredible players that God ever put on this earth.
I'm so thankful to have him as my friend.

Hey Mike,

I know I've already told you, but I thought I'd join in here and make my congratulations public. Anyone who has heard all the hit records you've played on the last few years knows how well deserved the award is. And those who heard your sets in Dallas a few weeks ago got a first hand look and listen as to how it's done by the pro's pro. Thanks so much for asking me to be a part of things.

And Jeff, you stirrin' that rhythm added so much to the sound and "feel". Made it real easy for me. I can't wait til the next time.

See ya soon,
Jim

Congrats Mikey. You are a star as a person and as a player. A well deserved accolade. Nashville is lucky to have 4 wonderful people playing pedal steel in town in the shape of Mike, Tommy, Buck and Paul. All so good they don't need surnames printed here.

Congratulaions Mike! You deserve the ACM award and have certainly earned it my friend. I wish you many more.
Doesn't really matter who played the song in question with Ms. Seely on the Opry. It got played and played well either way! It's all good. :)
Jeff, thank you for the support you and Show Pro give fellas like Mike, me and all steel players. It's folks like you who help make the steel guitar community a brotherhood.
Love,
TW
