Question about MSA Left moving levers

Ever since I purchased my used S12 MSA, I have had problems with my left moving levers.

This is with both the LKL & RKL.

When packing up the steel, and closing the levers down, the LKL & RKL don't stop until they hit the cabinet.

This also allows the pull rod to go the other direction, letting the nylon tuner and guide tube to stick out the endplate.

Am I missing parts?

I was thinking of using an extra bellcrank to
to act as a stop in this direction.

How did levers(LKL & RKL) come set-up from the factory?

Any help would be great!

If I remember right, they came with some small rod collars, one for each left moving knee lever. These were on one rod for each lever, close to the changer but out far enough to not affect pulls, to keep the shafts from sliding out the end of the guitar.

Jim's right about the use of those collar-stops on the pullrod by MSA. That was one way to solve the problem. Another way would be to put a small spring on one of the bellcranks to keep the pullrod "per-loaded" against the changer finger. Still another way would be to put a stop on the apron or the knee-lever bracket itself. I have even seen some players cut a small amount from the spacer behind the tuning nut. This makes the end of the rod protrude less, and then when the lever's folded, it won't stick out.

It's just a minor little "design quirk" that can be solved in many ways.
