So the band I play with, Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels, wears jackets made by and are friends with the legendary Manuel. We were out at his country house outside Nashville this past October and I discussed the possibility of bringing in some recording gear and tracking our new record out there. Well, dreams do come true and we just wound up our sessions this weekend, and I thought I would share a few pictures. We setup live in his living rooms and camped out in the guest loft for the week, and recording completely undistracted by the outside world--no tvs or internet--just killer home cooking and story telling between sessions. One of the highlights was on Wednesday we were joined by Lloyd Green on steel, Kenny Vaughan on guitar and Pete Wasner on keys...awesome week! More to come...

That has to have yielded some great material. What a combo.

Sounds like you had a fantastic time. For the great Lloyd Green to stop by, well, that's unbeatable! Lloyd's sounding great on Amber Digby's lastest CD too.

Wow, John, what a great idea to record at Manuel's place, and along with Lloyd you've got a lot of interesting ties to the birth of country rock. Thanks for sharing.

BTW.....you really need some cowboy boots with that fabulous jacket. Wink
