I think a proper distinction might be
what builders do all assembly and design
and which builders source out part of
the work. I only know Bruce Zumsteg's
method. He does everything because that's
just his style. Unfortunately that includes
alot of labor that isn't MISSION CRITICAL.
Subsequently you wait 10-12 months. I admire
Bruce for being STUBBORN I guess. |

On a serious note, I think that all "factories" had to have a starting point. Most (I use this term loosley) factories started in a garage or a dedicated room for the adventerous to experiment.

True Kenny! This is why I related the MSA garage statement. I can't figure out where folks are getting all this negitive energy from,WOW! Some people can see it and some can't. Some love to argue and some like to be nice and help others!

That's it,so many threads about how many people play this and that,who really cares? Ann Fabian started it and everyone good naturedly jumped in,I ask one intelligent question and the whole world is trying to read some horrible "put down" in it>what did he really mean"? Who cares where an instrument is made??
If the instrument is of high quality craftmanship - garage or factory, what's the issue? I have seen outstanding examples of both. I have also seen horrible examples of both.
Price? Value is in the eye of the beholder, as well as it's perceived value in the market and it always will be.
