I know a lot of my Musician friends will appreciate this little story. I've been into Ham Radio Hobby for 36 years and I talk to people all over the world. Many famous people (Ronnie Milsap for instance) are Ham Radio Operators so you never know who you might meet over the radio.Tonight I was trying to talk to a gentleman who I could barely hear when this other station starts trying to call me and he won't stop interrupting my attempt to hear the guy I was trying to hear.I told him numerous times to stand by and I would talk to him next.He just kept on giving out his call letters and asking me if I heard him.Well I got so pissed off I told the original guy I was through trying to deal with this jerk and I said goobye and turned my radio off.I took a minute to look up this guys call letters just to see who this jerk was and guess who it was....Joe Walsh. I'll be in the back yard firing up the butt kicking machine. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

So being a well-known musician means he's exempt from being a jerk even when he's acting like one? |

Don't worry about it Dick you did nothing wrong. I feel like everyone else just because someone is well known does not give them the right to be a jerk. I will look for you on 40 meters one night. 73, Jim/AB5YS |

Kevin, you can look up his call on QRZ.COM (WB6ACU)
Jimmy,I know I didn't do anything wrong but my point is I wish I had checked out his call before flipping the off switch in frustration because I would have really enjoyed talking to him. Jimmy, you can find me most weeknights on 7.220 at 9:00CST so stop by some time. _________________ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night. |

Walsh is an intelligent man, though he often affects a rude, stupid, acid-fried idiot hippie persona which he finds to be really entertaining. He's done occasional stints in comedy clubs, met with the adoration America awards to anybody at all who's gotten rich somehow. Using Cheech & Chong as your personal role models would make more sense if they had somehow been funny.
Living wholly inside the LA celebrity bubble for several decades - not too many escape unscathed. |
