I was lucky enough to get the call. Haven't done a APHC for more than a year, but Emmy Lou and Rodney requested a pedal steel. God Bless them. Hope they have a great tour.

Joe, why haven't you done the show in over a year? I thought you were a permanent member of the house band, no? Surely they didn't get another steeler in your place. Are they just moving away from steel for the house band, except upon request?

Anyway, if not APHC, what else are you up to? Got gigs?

Thanks ebb...appreciate that.

Jim....I was never an official or permanent member of the "Shoe Band". Had a high frequency of appearances on the show for a 2-3 years, but it was always random.
Now it's less frequent. They haven't been using pedal steel at all as far as I know.

I manage to stay pretty busy around town here with various gigs. The latest "big" thing is a new MN Public Radio production called "Wits". I am in the house band for that show. Myself, vibes, bass, drums and a female vocalist. Interesting mix. The show is about four years in it's development. We are beginning to get picked up by other Public radio affiliates. I believe Philadelphia is carrying the show to some degree. The show is definately growing, so that's cool and exciting to be a part of.
We are cued up to begin a 10 show series between March 15 and the end of June.

Thanks for asking. Love your record. :D

As a fervid NPR addict, I heard Emmylou while I was driving to work on Sunday, and I've been wondering who that was playing steel on "Wits," which my local station just started carrying. Sounds great, Joe!

He did a great job on Dreaming my Dreams of capturing Sneaky Pete's sound. I wish I could hear more of that sound on today's records.
