The book "Gibson Electric Steel Guitars" shows the FON # on a 1939 Console Grande, EGE-6696 , stamped into the left side of the body, between the two necks. But that changed after WWII. If your guitar is a post-war model, try looking on the underside of the body, by where the rear legs screw in. But it may not be there - Depending on the year, it may not have a serial number. If that is the case, you may be able to date it by the potentiometer codes.

Gibson went from three legs to four legs by mid-1950.
