Bob's place is the HOT BED of activity!

Post by Ray Montee »

I truly don't understand why more steel players aren't showing up for 'the GATHERING".

The accomodations of Bob's man cave couldn't be nicer or more plush. Neat and clean, a no smoking environment and both guitars and amps of which to avail oneself. What more could a musician possibly want? Also, plenty of FREE, easy access parking with no long cross-country jaunts to carry ones equipment in.

I've always felt that a dozen or two of assorted Dunkin' donuts and a soft drink would go far toward attracting more players and possibly consider letting the dancing girls go, as they're like tambourine players as they're mostly flash with little or no substance.

Hope to see you guys come Tuesday. Beginners, inter-mediates and olde-time pro's are all welcome and will feel totally comfortable.

Well now, on second tho't Bob...............

Post by Ray Montee »

Maybe keep the dancin' girls........

and just a simple box of mini-white powdered sugar
donuts that could be cut in half so everyone would have at least one-half donut each.

And about the drink, perhaps a BIG GULP of popular flavor with a free straw for everyone to share the drink with?

Well we started off the new year with a great jam session and New Year's celebration combined. Everything kind of came together at the last minute, but we had a room filled with great players and friends, some good food and beverage, and generally a really great time. We did a few more things for this get together, we shot a few video clips which are listed on the links below, and I also have several pictures. This should give everyone a pretty good idea on what this is all about, you missed a good one if you weren't here this time. We did have to give up the dancing girls this time, spent all the money on food and drinks.

This should pretty much give you an idea what this is all about. Hope to see everyone at the next jam in two weeks.

Sad news..........

Post by Ray Montee »

Sorry to learn of your sickness, Mr. Muller.

Sally and I were wondering why your usual mid-afternoon nap waking telephone calls had not occurred this past week.

Hope it's nothing serious. What's the prognostication for your recovery????

Do keep us all informed, for without BOB MULLER, there simply would be no steel guitar gathering for all to enjoy.

GET WELL soon!

Did the dancing girls wear you down?

If so, I'll bet it was worth it.

How are you doing Bob? It's been so quiet here, and of course I had Tuesday off THIS week for once :? I see in the photos nobody playing Eric's guitar so I have to do something about that.

Hope you're feeling better and to see you soon...

GREAT Photo's..................

Post by Ray Montee »

Thanks Bob........for the great photo's.

It's nice to know that the three folks that travel the furthest each week seem to enjoy the gathering as much as the guys that live just around the corner.

Their contribution to the activities is nothing short of GREAT! Having a live accompanist is the real answer to playing good music.

Storm is one of the finest vocalists I've heard in many a year and have truly enjoyed my opportunities to make music with him. His guitar playing is second to none.

Josh has really improved in such a very short time.
His steel playing is right there.....right on! His lead guitar picking is might fine also.

And, it's nice to have a bass-person that knows how to play it correctly. A good one is hard to find and ads so much to the sound of a tight little group.

Life Gets Tegeous............don't it?

Post by Ray Montee »

I don't know if I spelled that word correctly or not but I did try.........

Bob: I got up Tuesday morning feeling better and had great plans for making it to the 'gathering' at your wonderful place however...........

By the time we got to the olde folks bowling alley place, my back was stabbing me once again. I struggled thro' the first game barely making my average but had to sit out the next two games and then hobbled to the car. Getting up the long flight of stairs at the apartment nearly did me in and did bring tears to my eyes.

Sorry I let you down. Nothing personal, I assure you. Your deteriorating olde pal..........

Well we had another good jam last week, sorry you couldn't make it Ray but you should have sent the dancing girls anyway. Dave Grafe showed up and played some great music for us, Shannon had a new/old bass guitar she was trying out, looks great! And generally we just played some good music. Hope to see everyone again at the next jam.

Shannon, Josh, and storm were here also, they seem to be very excited about the upcoming Texas pedal steel show. We took a few photos for everyone to see.
