I love the Buck Owens style guitar!! It must be an old model from the 70's.

A few years ago I became aware of Cindy's reso playing---I'd only known her as a western swing steel player. I love her playing. So tasteful, understated, integral to the music.

Just beautiful -- proves you don't always need fireworks to make the song happen. Thanks for the link.

Cindy is unfailingly tasteful and never overplays. She always supports the song yet, if asked to play a fire-breathing solo, she's completely up to the task - and can do so in a number of styles. That's a rare quality. She's also a lovely person.

I am no good at analyzing stuff. Any idea which tuning she's using? I'm at her website and I see the numerous options. I don't have the tools to make an educated guess.

It appears to be standard dobro tuning G B D G B D low-to-high, capo at 2nd fret so essentially she's playing (high bass) Open A: A C# E A C# E

Ah. Thanks Mark. I had it in my head that it might be something like a D A D F# A D . I hate hearing sweet playing in standard tuning. Means I can't blame my lack of imagination on the tuning.

She made a really pretty song much prettier that it would have been without her.

I love the way her dobro playing imparts a rhythm. That's not easy to do.
Dobro occupies a lot of band with and it really gets to shine in a sparce mix like that.
