So cool but, I'm a little disappointed not to see a bar come into play.
In addition to playing stel guitar, I've been an automation engineer for a good part of my life. A linear drive controlling the position of a bar is a simpler mechanism, and often, simpler is better.
I wonder if a well written SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) application would bear fruit for a "player pedal steel"? hhmmm.....

Yes, it's a cartoon, but it's based on my friend Linda Manzer's creation, which she calls a Pikasso, and for which she has won awards. 8)

All right Alan. Pony up. Where can we hear this?.
2 years in the build, and 1000 pounds of string pressure?. Some form of dread scientific method has snuck in here. Sounds like it also works to trigger a sampler as well?.

Some friends you have, why don't they turn this kind of innovation towards a steel?
