Besides stringed instruments are there any others with with tuning issues? Do they tune wind instruments? Aren't all piano's tuned the same, even though that is a string instrument? My point being the variety if of tunings for the steel guitar. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

Nowadays pianos are almost always tuned to equal temperament. In Bach's day this was not the case. Well-Tempered Klavier was written for a tuning that allowed playing in all keys (unlike just temperament) but was not equal. So each key had its own sound.
Electronic keyboards usually allow changing temperaments at the touch of a button. It's fun to play Bach in his tuning.
Here are a couple of pages about historical temperaments:

Looks like it would be perfect for towel head music. Sounds like a Sitar to me. Ravi Shankar stuff. Not really my cup of tea. _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

There have been a number of experiments with different piano tuning. La Monte Young's work being the one that comes to mind. Certainly Harry Partch did some amazing work in the area of Just Intonation. |

"towel head music"? That is completely offensive.
Yes, tuning and intonation are issues for wind instruments as well. |

The demo was Indian music because that is the most popular music in the world today that uses non-western tuning. I'm sure that this "fluid piano" would be acceptable for playing Bach in the original baroque temperament, or for simply sweetening the key of G for a country tune. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Tuners appear way too coarse for that. It needs fine tuning capability, such as screws on each string. |

I am not that familiar with Piano's or this device, but I wonder what exactly the precision of the device would be? Also it appears they are tuning entirely by ear? That is my two cents worth! _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.
