Bob Dunn Birthday

Steel guitar pioneer, Bob Dunn was born today, Feb. 9 in 1908. Bob joined Milton Brown and His Musical Brownies in 1934 and excited radio and live audiences with his unique steel style. Bob was also a jazz trombone player and brought that style to his steel guitar work using an amplified Martin acoustic guitar as his steel. After Miltons death in 1936 Bob went on to own and operate a music store and play with various Western Swing bands in Texas and Oklahoma.
