My Fender Blues Jr. has started an annoying buzzing sound, it's the bottom edge of the flimsy back panel, tolex rubbing against tolex when I play loud low notes. It's not just loose screws, there's 3 inches of un-supported panel below the last row of screws. Designed that way.

Just looking for suggestions, best solution without altering the amp. Any ideas?

You might try a small rubber washer between the back panel and the amp on each side and reinstall the panel...hopefully it will cushion the panel enough to eliminate the buzz...or cut a small piece of foam behind the panel on both sides ...

Thanks Chris. I did a temporary fix with a bar of ivory soap, rubbed it on the tolex for lubrication. If the buzzing starts again I might try your rubber washer idea.

you can also try and weigh it down with something - weatherstripping maybe?

You can also try a small wedge of wood in the area where it buzzes. Try the wedge dry to see if it stops the buzz, then put a drop of glue in the space before the wedge for a more permanent fix.

If there's no support at the bottom of the panel, you can buy small right-angle brackets that would allow you to secure that part of the back with another screw on each side. Smile
