I got an GFI Ultra and I'd like to shorten the throw of the LKR. Anybody got an easy fix for this?
I already switched it from Day to Emmons so I have a little experience working underneath. Thanks for any help. |

Move the rods farther "out" the bellcranks and shorten the travel stop.
Of course the lever will become stiffer _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks Lane. When you say "out" do you mean away from the cross shaft? |

Correct. Think of the bellcranks as a lever, with the shaft as the fulcrum. Closer to the shaft, and they will have to travel farther, but be easier to move. If you move the rod farther away from the shaft, the shaft will have to turn less, but it will be stiffer _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

On a GFI, if the pull-rods are already at the outermost hole on the bellcranks and the LKR throw is still too long, you can shorten it by moving the lever linkage rod to a hole closer to the shaft on its bellcrank. Same result: shorter and stiffer LKR throw. Lever stop screw on LKR bracket must also be adjusted for the shorter throw. |

Thanks for ur input Georg. Much appreciated. I'll try moving the lever linkage rod also and see how I like that. |
