I agonized for quite awhile about spending $40 (more or less) for his big book....(complete) I was really surprised at all the stuff in there......to say nothing of when did he ever have time to put it all down on paper!? Must type with both hands & he knows computers, too! spreadsheets galore! I haven't seen his videos nor been in on any of his courses, but I've seen him play and IMHO he knows whereof he speaks!!! Great stuff and a great person! as well as a great picker & comedian!

I think Joe's Techniques Bundle of exercises
has become a STANDARD of Steel instruction.
It seems to be useful to players at every level.

I have Joe's "Technique Bundle" and it's done me more good than half a dozen "tab" books. It trains your body to play the pedal steel. Get that part down, and the music will flow.

I, too, use Joe's Technique Bundle. It makes a BIG difference in my chops.

Does anyone have a working URL for Joe Wright? I can't seem to get through from the old one and a google search gets me nothing.

I've just started learning the PSG and bought the technique bundle and it does seem to be a really thorough resource.

I was hoping the drills might be more musical but I understand the limitations when you just need to focus on the picking hand that note choice is going to be limited.

I suppose as I get better with the drills I can start adding bar moves or pedals to make them pretty to my ears.
