Richard, the stuff is called "Vinyl wrap". It comes in a huge array of colors and patterns, uses heat to shrink it to fit and get it to adhere, and I believe just peels of when you are tired of it. Life expectancy is not what good laminate is, but it looks so easy and I think is very affordable, so you can have a new color every 4 years or so. You can apply it yourself, or have a shop do it. It is used extensively these days on cars and motorcycles, as well as with printed advertising to cover the box on delivery trucks, vans, etc.

I used regular adhesive backed Oracal sign vinyl on mine. I had a graphic ad shop cut it for me and add transfer tape. I already had the necks off too.

It's a little tricky the first time. I learned a few tricks for the next time.

I made a post a while back concerning using auto-wraps instead of a re-formica project of some sort.

Here it is

I have the exact same wrap from that Emmons on my Carter.

Appreciate the post guys, and for showin the pictures of your Carter Chris. I'd like to change my Mullen pre RP from red to a black, or maybe a nice dark blue, or maybe even a Maroon, with 3 silver crosses in the middle of the front apron. Think that could be done? I know we have at least one sign shop here in town, and an auto body shop, and a detail shop. Maybe one of those three could do it you think? And it's great to just have to take the key head off, I like that!
