Sho-bud Pro-11 Custom D-10 8X3 For Sale
Selling for a friend. Father passed in 2005 and has been in the closet til now. Beautiful walnut (reddish)lacquer over birds eye maple. I have done a thorough cleaning, including removing the E-9 changer, deburring and polishing all moving parts. (some action was stiff)lots of cigarette smoke and gunk accumulated over the years. I was surprised there was hardly any wear at the fingers indicating it apparently had not been played as much as some. Oiled with machine oil, reinstalled, new strings, etc.
This baby plays like "butter" now and after fine tuning, stretching strings, it is very accurate and stays in tune. (the way it's supposed to)
There are a few of the usual bar dings, but not bad enough to take away from the beauty of this ole axe.
There are some pretty heavy bar dings along the middle of the C-6 fret board, and there are only two ways they could have got there! One is, the player must have gotten terribly frustrated with their performance and commenced to beating the heck out of it with the flat end of the bear, or, Two, His wife caught him with His pants down in the wrong place, and took her anger out on the fret board! I can only imagine, can't you. I know worse things have happened to steel pickers.
In spite of this, this is a beautiful, excellent playing, vintage Shobud, in the right color, so don't let this slip by you. Notice pics with flash picks up the red more than natural light.

Gary, you are so right. These guitars are getting more and more scarce. If I were wealthy, I'd keep this one, but I'm not, so, Mr. Ziegler seems to want this one, so I may have a sale pending. Will keep ya'll informed. Lonnie
