As I mentioned in a previous post - prior to the 1960s, American guitars were not imported to Australia in commercial quantities, and money was tight anyway. Here is yet another example of the lengths people would go to for the Ric sound.

Allen,its on ebay now. I'd like to bid, but it is over priced to start. I'm guessing it would need some work to get it going, no matter what assurances the seller gives. I have never heard anything that came near the bakelite sound. If this one does . . . its a doosie!
