Is this the first time for this show? I don't remember hearing about it before. Any way, got a room at Comfort Suites across from the VA hosp and will be there.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Pete...see you there too,

I was really looking forward to playing at this show but as it turns out I have eye surgery on October 25th so I had to cancel. I am sure it will be a good show and I hope to be able to do it next time.

What an awesome job by the house band!

Post by Pete Nicholls »

While we didn't have a big crowd, it was definitely a musical success. The house band for the steel players on Sunday were as good as the best, and better than the rest! They were awesome! They worked 8 or 9 hours straight and made all of us sound better!

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and really enjoyed playing bass for the Saturday night jam.

Thanks to Jack Burnside and all of his helpers for putting this show together.

Very excited about the successful things that IMO at least help override the obvious attendance problems. Great fellowship, wonderful picking. A success as far as I am concerned...

Thanks Jack for taking a chance and putting this together for us...

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I was not a member of the forum until today. I joined to be able to comment on the Augusta Steel Show. I was there Saturday and Sunday and did some vocals with Nick Atkins playing Steel behind me. I want to thank everyone that helped us out while we were there. I think most of you know that Nick had not seen a Steel Guitar until 3 months ago. I have helped him out as much as I can with what I know. I think he has a lot of natural talent.

The thing that most impressed me during the show was the performance put on by Jack Burnside and Chuck Lettes Sunday afternoon. I have never seen two steel guitars played in unison like they played. When they started playing, I thought only one steel was playing through a stereo amp. I want to say well done to both of them. I think the rest of what I wanted to say has been said already.

I am also late in posting, but takes me a couple of days to get back in the groove after being gone for three days. We too had a great time at the Augusta Show and thank all the players who allowed me to sing a tune with you--it's always my pleasure!!
Also THANK YOU again to Jack Burnside for all the hard work in putting the show together-- Great to see so many musical friends-- many of them are more like family! :)

Those that didn't make the Augusta show certainly missed a good one. Great players, super back up band, prime location, all the ingredients for an excellent show. A special thanks to Jack for all the work and time that went into the show. Looking forward to the next one!

I guess I'm joining the late group too. The show was a great learning experience for me due to all the proficient steel players and the supportive band. I'll be sure to turn up louder next time! Thanks to Jack Burnside for putting this on and thanks to everyone who attended for putting up with me
