Goodbye to a dear friend, Bobby Chatfield

Post by Gene Breeden »

In 1956 I met and became a friend for life with a young steel player in Grand Junction, Co., his name is Bobby Chatfield. At the time Norm Hamlet and I had a band together. Bobby went on to play with numerous bands throughout his lifetime including a lot of big name artists. Bobby passed away recently in Springfield, Mo.. Bob has a lot of CD albums he has recorded so if you get a chance, get one and you will really enjoy it! Rest in peace Bob, your friend....

I met Bobby when I was a teenager. He was the first real professional musician I ever played with. He was kind to me and I credit his patient mentorship with starting me on the right track to competence and professionalism in the music business. I will always remember him fondly.
