I'm never sure whether to leave comments here or on YouTube, so how 'bout both? That was some mighty nice steel playing.

Man, that was great. Here's a newby question, where on the neck are you hitting those harmonics as the fiddle solo is going out? That was especially sweet.
Thanks!

Gretchen Wilson, one of the finest voices in Country toady, backed by one of the finest steel players. Gaylon, thanks for that one man. Your sound and tone are impeccable. It gave me the familiar shivers when I hear something good.

You and that Rains sound great, Gaylon! You sure make it look easy. Gretchen and the gang look like a lot of fun to work with.

just watched this for the first time in a couple of years. I can't believe she can't get radio play nowadays. I guess she's not "Bro-country" enough. THANK GOD!

Gaylon,

That's some good country picking and singing. You play so smooth. It's so refreshing to hear a band play that song the right way. Every band I've played with for the past 10 years, on the chorus, wants to go to the four chord (instead of the one) after the five. I guess it's no big deal, but it's a pet peave of mine. Again, great playing!

It's a sad day for country music when someone with a voice like Gretchen and a song like "When I Think About Cheating" can't get played on the radio. Watch this live video with Gaylon. It don't get any better for me.

Thanks Rick. If you want to hear what I consider Country Music you will have to turn somewhere other than main stream radio. I listen to HPR2 on my computer. http://www.hpr.org/ or listen to itunes. I miss playing with Gretchen as she has one heck of a voice for sure. The artist I'm working with now is pretty much all classic country. He's local and will likely never make it to the "big time" because he doesn't fit the mold so to speak. I'm good with that and so is he.

Gaylon - I never listen to FM radio. I had XM but Willie's Roadhouse has changed and I didn't care for it either. Too much Texas Swing. I'm a fanatic traditional country fan. I spend my money on the Texas guys like Justin Trevino, Bobby Flores, Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall, etc... and I've got everything Paycheck, Jack Greene, Mel Street, Conway, etc.... ever recorded. Gretchen's Cheating is the last female Nashville CD I think I've bought. I'm glad you've got a good gig going. You're a monster player and the guys are lucky to have you.
