To anyone out there who has experience in this topic, did the original BL 705 pickups come in a narrow mount? Thanks.

Original chrome surround BL pickups came with adapter plates for both wide mount and narrow mount pickups. I will post a couple pics of them shortly.

I've got a pair in my SuperPro, so I guess they did.

Here's a pic of the plates. They mount to the bottom of the pickup with 2 small screws. I've just begun fabricating some of these as in the photo.

Thanks for the quick reply! Does anyone out there have a couple of these with a narrow mount they might be willing to sell? Thanks.

I have a single L-605 if you'd be interested in a lighter wound unit. It specs out at around 16K v the heavier wound 705. It's listed in the classifieds.

Does anyone know if the base plate on the reissue 705s can be removed or somehow modified to fit a narrow slot in a guitar? Thanks.

Not sure about the new 705's, but I used to have a push/pull Emmons with chrome 705's mounted directly to the blocks underneath (no mounting plate). My reason was that I needed more room between the strings and pickups.

Bump up for Don. Maybe someone that has recently bought a reissue 705 knows if they can be installed in a narrow mount slot. A photo of the bottom side might be helpful.

From what I have seen on ebay, you can get the 705 reissue for a narrow mount.
