If my memory serves me right, it is Weldon Myrick on a lot of the Stoney Edwards recordings.

Here's the accurate information from the one who knows best, the player who did the record - Lloyd Green.
Lloyd just sent me an e-mail:
Quote: |
While Weldon Myrick no doubt played on some of the Stoney Edwards records, the one in question, “Hank and Lefty Raised My Country Soul” is not him.
I recorded that, and others, in 1973 with Stoney, giving my reverently best impression of Don Helms which Don thought was as close as it ever got. The “Lefty” lick from “Always Late” at the end of the chorus was exactly what Curly Chalkler had played on “Lefty’s” original record in the early 1950s.
I combined the two sounds to compliment the lyrics of the song which is what we tried to do in those days. And while I didn’t usually copy others, when the occasion was perfect….I did just that. |

Many thanks Walter for taking the time to research that for us.
Actually there were several other "Stoney" songs on the same link at u tube and I did detect a Lloyd sound there.
Best regards

Thanks to Lloyd for providing us with the accurate information. I didn't do anything but making a false assumption which was corrected by the man...
