Hi Chris. I was wondering when you were going to surface again. Stacey Starkweather and I were listening to ruffs of your CD on the way home a while back. Wow! Can't wait to here the finished product.

I love it when PSG gets out of its' pigeon hole. This is a nice example. Mr. Easley really rips it at about 4:35. Interesting effect during solo - tastefully over driven. I like his clean back up as well.

I don't suppose you live in VT anymore?

He is a really great musician and a lot of fun to visit with.

David is one my favorite players. I'm going to interview him soon, as soon as I can find a little time. Have you heard his CD, A Time of the Signs? Very interesting playing on there--it is a vocal record and most of his steel playing is disguised as other instruments, especially organ, which he really pulls off. Great player.

When I saw him in St Louis, I had no idea the psg could do some of the things that he does on it , I was totally impressed with the different cultured sounds of music he creates, He`s got an incredible mind for this, and a Great smile to boot,

That's a really cool record. I think I was a junior in high school when I got that, and it made a huge impression on me. Obviously Dave plays some mind-blowing steel on it, but for me, it's actually more notably remembered as the first record that exposed me to Kurt Rosenwinkel, one of the greatest jazz guitarists in the world.

He actually has a CD of some of his best of two years at the ISGC, I guess ask him? It may be for sale, just mind-blowing stuff. For a daily taste search YouTube for "Dave Easley International" and it all comes up. He is absolutely in a class by himself, the one and only steeler who you actually could drop into that (mythical?) "New York jazz jam" where you need to know 400 standards and be able to play them in any key or style - dig up his "Giant Steps" here, know many six-stringers who could smoke that?

And how many steelers take jobs playing background supper music - in Indian restaurants? Just for the practice.....

Dave is the real deal. I think the best jazz player on steel.
