Well Guys looks like Anna and I will still be here to have the Steel Guitar Jam in Coats N.C. We have had only one buyer for our home so far and they could not get the financing to buy.Guess Ray Thomas is going to get his hope that we don't sell. No just kidding Ray. We have had other people say that to us and we always sold our homes when we wanted to move. So we will see you all on the 20TH of October.

Post by Johnny Howington »

Hello Sam! Sorry about house not selling but glad you will be around for the jam on the 20th. Looking forward to seeing you and Anna again and all the steel players. I think this will be a great day just to hear all those steel guitars playing again! Can't wait!

Sam

I dont think I'll be playing at this one. I just haven't had the time to practice. I may just come to watch though. I just wish I had more time to dedicate to my music.

Regards

Practice?

Post by Allen Howington »

Ben, just come play what you can, as we all have to do at times. This is not competition, its sharing a love of the steel guitar. Besides, no one could miss as many notes as I did last time. Come on and have a good time, remember life is short!

Steel buddy,

Hey Guys and gals two weeks from Tomorrow will be the North Carolina's Sixth (6) Steel Guitar Jam. It will be here before you know it. This might be the last one that I will be running here.Steel Players in Florida want me to have them down there when we get down there and settled in so I guess Anna and I will be doing them there.I hope some one here will keep them going here and keep the Steel Guitar Alive here in North Carolina.

Hey Sam, looks like I'm not going to be able to make this one. We've started a regular Saturday restaurant gig from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and I'm going to ride that one out as long as it lasts. Gigs are getting harder to find each year. Lookin' forward to seeing you again somewhere down the line........Jerry in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

OK Guys it is one week from Tomorrow.I went to the senior center yesterday and every thing is a GO. David is going to get about 50 Hamburger patty's and ten
(10)pounds of red hot dogs and soft drinks.I'm also looking for some one to keep this Steel jam going when Anna and i move to Florida. We don't have a buyer yet so I will book another Steel Jam at the Coats senior center for late January or early February. We will see how it goes at this Jam coming up.

Hey (BJ) I think we all should keep a eye on you you are catching up with the way Ray Walker played. You done a great job last Friday night at the pack house. I can not be leave how Quick you are catching on playing the Steel Guitar.Wait until Saturday when these guys all hear you play.Watch out for (BJ) guys he is going to go right by all of us and be a top Steel Player. Hope he does good Job playing the Shot Gun Red Show on the General Jackson the 30TH of this month. It will be on RFD TV and he is going to let us know when.WE will see how many Steel players are there and I will decided on how many tracks we play.If I do three (3) and we are getting close to time to get the band going I will do like MASGA does and cut the last few players down to two.I will figure it out when I see how many show up.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL SATURDAY AT 10:00 AM.

I cannot make it tommorrow. I was just gonna watch and socialize but I had an emergency call service today from Richmond VA and I have to be there in the morning to fix their machine. I hate to miss out on the jam but I am almost flat broke an need the overtime nonetheless.

Hope everyone has a great time.

I will make the next one I hope.
