Whats the best sounding liteweight steel.

Best sounding is a subjective kind of thing. I would guess that all of the lightweight guitars sound good. My choice was the Justice Pro Lite. I've had it since May and have logged a lot of hours on it. The factor that separated this guitar from the others, for me, was the larger S-10 body with a pretty much full sized sd-10 pad. The guitar sounds really good as well. The highly personalized service from Fred Justice was terrific.

I have an older Williams S-10 (single wide body) keyless guitar. The case is about the size of a tenor saxophone case. Very light and compact and it sounds wonderful.

It depends on who is playng it. I have witnessed one player get up and another sit down at the same steel and the sound changed drastically without touching the amp............
From this point anyone can argue with me all they want but it will not change what I heard.

I have a Justice pro-lite & i LOVE it, I have also played the Justice S-10 3x4 & wow I was blown away by the light weight & great tone & playability, I have to admit I have not tryed the stageone or any of the others out there, I know anything that Bruce Z. & Doug E. build is as good as it is going to get, we all have our preferences and that is all that matters.God Bless. Fred I'm with you. I'm 71 years old and I can get mine up in less than 2 minutes. I have however learned how to screw 2 legs on L/R one in my left hand one in my right hand at the same time.

For a moment i thought i was on another forum im 46 yrs old and need longer than 2 minutes to get mine up (the steelguitar b0b,the steel b0b i swear)

So many really good s-10's out there but the only one I have really played was the ETS. I have a D-10 built but Larry Agan that has nothing on the S-10 built buy Larry Agan and Bud Carter. IMO why buy a CArter starter when you can buy a brand new ETS built by Bud carter. Killer guitar, tone, playability, split tuners, light weight. I am thinking about sending my guitar back for upgrades to make it play as good as the ETS. Don't delay, buy today .

I thought the D10 MCI was lighter than both an emmons and sho bud and such a sweet sound (only if they're black).

Don't forget that by swapping out your standard legs for light weight aluminum legs, you will cut down considerably on your weight. Any standard S10 with light weight legs should weigh in at under 40 pounds in the case. Even my SD10 Jackson Pro IV is a featherweight with the aluminum legs.

Well a D10 light weight steel is another story too. The GFI D10 weighs 40lbs. out of the case. What is the lightest D10? I cannot testify to the tone or playability myself, but I've read some happy comments about them. If I ever went back to a D10 the weight is a major consideration.
