This is a one of a kind guitar made by Danford Guitars in Denham Springs,La.A lot love went into making this instrument.It has 3 Pedals 5 Kneee levers/8 6061 alum cross shafts on oillite bushings.
Never needs to be lubricated.The body is curly tiger maple with a nitrocellose finish.All knees & pedals are polished.I am asking $1895.00 plus shipping.Ther is no case but it will be packaged by shipping co.

I forgot to give lever action.
LKL lowers 4&8 LKR Raises 4&8 VKL lowers 5&10
RKL raises 1 whole tone & 2 Half tone & lowers 6 whole tone.RKR lowers 2 whole tone & 9 half tone.
Pedals are emmons setup.

I saw this beauty before Dan put all the under carriage on it. I've played his prototype and it was a very nice axe, very well built and played great. I am going to play this guitar if it doesn't sell before I can get behind it.

Good looking guitar, I like the underside layout, and without sitting behind it, I'd be surprised if it didn't sound good and play easy. Good job!

Thanks Fred Yes you can play it barefooted & it will
not hurt your feet.It is very quite also.This is my second steel to make. The fingers in relaxed position
rest aganist the body.It has a Bill Lawarnce 705 pickup. Thanks for the feedback. Dan Ford

Dan,
Are you sure about the left knee levers?
The floor pedals are set up ABC (Emmons). The way you describe the left knee levers, they are set up for a CBA (Day).
LKL should raise the two E's to F and LKR should lower the two E's to Eb on an Emmons set up,,,,???????????

JMHO, putting an inlayed Cross on the guitar limits your potential buyers right off the bat. That might be what you want on your personal guitar, but it's not for everybody and certainly shouldn't be done on a guitar that you don't yet have a buyer for.

The undercarriage does look nice, but I'm a little afraid of those aluminum cross shafts on a wide SD-10 or D-10 size cabinet. Stainless or Cold Rolled steel is what I'd like to see. You didn't mention the pullrods. I hope those are Stainless and not aluminum. The 35lb. weight sounds great, and I don't think changing to steel shafts would up that by much. You'd still be under 40 lbs. I'm not one that cares too much about weight. I carry a ZB and a Twin Reverb around.

The 4 raise/2 lower changer seems a little out of the norm, but you've seemed to make it work. A triple/triple changer would seem more standard though. The copedent looks good, but I would like to see a 2nd string raise to go with the first string-whole tone raise. You said it has the 2nd string raise but there's no pullrod on the raise finger for the 2nd string? I see you've got the 6th string lower, too. That's a nice change to have! The 705 pickup is a nice compliment.

Dan, I'm not trying to pick your hard work apart. Seriously, I'm only saying this because you asked for feedback. It looks great! I really do love the cabinet. If you made those changes and at least offered some type of case for shipping or carrying it, similar to what Bob Simmons offers with his Genesis model, you could really compete with the couple of builders who are in that $1000-$2000 price range. NOBODY is offering a beautiful lacquer cabinet in that range. It's all mica covered bodies. I think that could really be your IN to the market right there. I've never been a big fan of mica covered guitars. This is what we've needed!!

One more suggestion, and I know I'm getting picky, but make the logo a little smaller and take the serial # and "made in USA" off. Put it on the bottom of the guitar. You do these things and bring it in at your original price or a hair lower, say $1695-$1795, you'll sell 'em quicker than you can build 'em. Hell, I'd be in line to get one for that price! Again, just my opinion, but that Cross on the front is probably why you've had to drop your price by $400 right now. I'm a Christian myself, but I play in bars and clubs. In the words of Hall and Oates, I can't go for that.

like to point out that I have a positive stop at the point force on the pedals.You can put a tuner on the guitar & press the pedals hard & it hardly move the needle at all. Very little cabinet drop at all.Again

I was quite good some steel guitar a little fiddle, you know, like the real deal.

It is going to have the MSA type bell cranks with 5 holes. I am building it with 4 pedals & 5 knee levers.Probley have it finished by mid Nov. Again thanks for the kind words.

Well I finally got a chance to play this beautiful guitar today. I asked Dan to come by my place and bring the guitar so I could play it on one of my amps. I also wanted to talk to him about building me a 6 string strat type to match my laquer plush/pull. I plugged into my rv-3 and to my Evans Hybrid 200 and wailed away. As Dan says a lot of love went into this guitar and it shows. Lots of string separation and sustain, solid up the neck in Hugheyland and solid feeling actionwise. A whole lot of guitar for the price he is now asking.
