Hi, Everyone,does anyone know what pots gibson would have used on there 40s and 50s,guitars, range also can any one tell me the difference between 250k,and 500k its that i am not to technical when it comes to guitar wiring,just would like to know.

You will get more highs with the 500K pot.

Gibson also used some pots that were "300K" and you can still get them.

hi Michael, a good rule of thumb is.......250k for single coil pickups and 500k for humbuckers........Tommy

Just a note on the pots used by Gibson. My 1949 Gibson Console Grande has 500K pots for Volume and Treble. The bass pot is 50K.
