One of my favorite songs from obscurity! You may never have heard it, but it was on "The Next Big Thing" album and has some beautiful steel work in it. I have tried to capture some of the beauty of the song, but know I must quit learning new songs and work hard on technique. I had hoped that technique would come with time, but am coming to believe after playing for 3.5 months, that it truly takes as much effort as learning new material. If you are unfamiliar with the song, please take a listen to the original (with John Hughey I think) if you have a chance.

Pete, you're doing fine except for the volume pedal. On a lot of the long duration notes and chords, you're "sneaking" into them, caused by picking before you press the volume pedal down, giving a weak character to those notes and chords. This is a technique issue, and technique is, by far, much harder to master than learning new songs.
Keep at it, you're doing pretty good for the time you've been pickin'! |
