Joined the Navy at the ripe old age of 17 and retired as a Electronics Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) with 21 years service active/reserve. I have attended several universities and have a masters degree in business but the most difficult school ever for me was the Navy Electronis Technician School in Great Lakes. I owe the Navy a lot..................clark

US Air Force 1962-1966.

Sent to Lackland AFB for Basic Training and Air Police Tech School. Stationed at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, Florida until discharge in 1966. With a wife and two kids in 1970 I tried to re-enlist and they turned me down. Told me if the Air Force wanted me to have a wife and kids they would have issued them to me!

Drafted for two years from 1952 and 1954. Promoted to an E-5 (Sgt) before my time was up. They wanted me to re-up but decided against it. Spent the two years at Fort Ord. I was very lucky !

Graduated high school in 1967, drafted in 1969. Did
basic at Fort Dix, NJ, then to Fort Lewis Washington,
and on to Coleman Barracks, Sandhofen, Germany. Made Spec. 5 during my two year stint but didn't stay
and make it a career. Worked in an aircraft parts
warehouse, got to tour Europe a bit while I was there.
Saw parts of Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland. Hope to get back there someday.

USMC 1976-1980. 29 Palms and Cherry Point. That's where I met Dick Sexton! It's a small world.

I noticed that at 54, I am probably the youngest to have responded yet. Another testimony to the overall age of steel guitarists. :\
