.....3rd string in over 3 months and I practice almost every day!! I can't figure it out. I bought a whole bunch of .011's from Musiciansfriend.com in anticipation of breaking some and now they won't break. I might suggest that everyone spend some extra money on a pile of spare strings. Seems to make them last longer!!

I'd wear my socks for three months before i'd leave strings on my steel that long. I really notice the differance when I put on a new set.
But the strings on my flat top are about four years old. I like it to sound flat.
Must have something to do with them differant strokes I hear folks talking about.
