Blind squirrel finds nut!
Thanks for all the documentation you have provided on this posting. I won an old D-8 Stringmaster MkI(SN 0282-24.5 scale) on eBay last week, and am waiting for delivery. I didn't really expect to win it at the starting bid price-but it was described incorrectly, and did not attract much attention. It's very rough-my plan is to enjoy playing it, and "preservate" it. What you have posted here is invaluable to me. Thank you.

Sorry Alan, my previous comment should have been addressed to you. You did a fantastic job restoring that instrument for Basil. Of course, the additional member's info is appreciated as well. I'm looking forward to receiving this steel. Should be here next week. I'll post some pics when it gets here-it's pretty rough-the PUP's appear to have been swapped out long ago, the cavities were probably chiseled out with a screwdriver, and then it was filled in with some type of filler. The filler wasn't even sanded level-it appears to then have just been painted with a brush! Very odd looking PUPs that I can't seem to find any info about. Small Soap Bar-type PUPs at the bridge and the neck PUPs look like some odd Humbucker-types. Maybe years ago they were considered an "upgrade" and someone here can identify them after I post pics. I'll take it apart, clean it up a bit, and just enjoy learning to play it. The good news is the pans have the lollipop tuners-and they appear intact and complete. After reading your post-they will be handled with kid gloves. My guess is they're pretty funky and very tight. Chem-Dip, I'm thinking. But it looks complete, with legs and a homemade case. Hope the PUPs and pots are working. We'll see next week, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again for your post.

Any extra leg & socket?
I know the tread is old but does anyone have an extra leg & socket they could sell to me?
I have a Fender Duel 8 with three and it's not stable at all.
Want to add the extra to make it more stable.
