No Manny give that $100.00 to Marcia so she can put in in the Associations bank account where it belongs. You don't need that money you are loaded. Come on down to my Steel jam the 20TH on October and bring Elaine with her bass. Remember Dave Nugent he is coming from Virginia and Jack Palmer lives down here he is from Coventry R.I.and has been down here since the late 70s.I have the Steel Guitar That my good friend Ray Walker and Jack Palmer built and Jack wanted to sell it so I grabbed it. It is a beautiful Steel and it plays much better than the Emmons LaGrande III that I had.Yes I lost another great friend Ray Walker. Now I have John Jiacovelli,Ralph Paulin, and Ray Walker all on the wall in front of my Steel Guitar and they are here watching me play my Steel and they are helping me play better.

Wuz a Great Show !!
Everyone had a great time today at the RISGA steel show !! Pickers were really hot and the guest bands gave us some surprises , especially Pete Hart with his steel AND Dobro playing in his new great sounding group !! The backup band of Elaine , Andy and J.D. were super and made everyone sound good !! We even discussed the olde Asian "Koto" ( forerunner to the steel guitar ) and discovered that Chris Brooks has one and may play it at a future Show !!! Looking forward to that one !! Thanks to all that played or came to the party !! AND Manny won the BIG $$$ raffle that his daughter Rose sold tickets for !!!??? HMMMM ?? Anyway , I'm looking forward to the next meeting in Nov. AND next years show !! Eddie "C" AKA the ole geezer

It was a fun day. The "Local Ambassador" Eddie Cunningham is a pleasure to hang out with. A big thank you goes to Marcia Rodrigues for organizing the show. Also she brought food for the players, and treated a few of us to a nice meal at a local restaurant. Speaking of that meal, Roger Trahan,
Elaine Ellis and Merle Record, you are in deep cow dirt. You argued with me when I said the St. Louis Convention used to be a FIVE day event. I saved all my old programs.

Many thanks to the R.I.S.G.A. for having Darlene and me on their show. We thoroughly enjoyed playing and listening to all the fine steel players, yesterday. The backup band, Elaine, Andy and JD, are tops in my book. It's such a pleasure having them back us up and making it sound like a polished group. They're great!!! Also, thanks to Chuck for letting me borrow his Fender Steel King amp. It sounded perfect and his generosity is unbounded. And, many, many thanks to Marcia, who, even though was under the weather, managed to coordinate and put this fine show together. She's a real keeper! The RISGA is a wondeful club with friendly, dedicated members and I commend them immensely.

Wow! What a show! I had lots of fun and enjoyed the whole day.
Thanks especially to Marcia for working so hard putting the show together and to Jim for doing a great job emceeing the show. I also want to thank the unbelieveable backup band. You all were fantastic! As for our guests from out of state, it was good to see you all again. I always enjoy listening to John and Darlene. Merle, It's been a while since I've seen you. I'm glad you made the trip. I enjoyed your playing very much. Thanks also to Eddie for the kind words. Mark, Raianne, Doug and I really enjoy playing the "Americana folk" type music and I am always greatful that they find a place for me! Our own members also did very well, I hear improvement every year! Again, it was lot's of fun.
I'll see many of you at the next meeting!

It really was a great show, and always something new. Thank you Marcia for pulling the show together, and also Roger and Chuck for being the "show committee". It's so great have fantastic steelers like Bill, Terry, Trevor, Merle and John drive down to support the show - Thanks for coming.
Special thanks to Darlene for being so gracious and singing so well with me stepping on cats in the background...
The backup band really was exceptional. They were able to play with all of us as if we had been working together for years.
Cindy Lane, Country Connection and Mark/Raianne/Doug and all the band members - thanks for coming and putting on your "A" game!
Time to start practicing for next year.
