Grand daughters lung transplant

Post by Darrell Schmidt »

She finally got tired of being poked and prodded and said that's it.She passed away tonight.Cysitic fibrosis is a wicked disease. The doctors at St Louis were trying different things just could not get a handle on it.Syd finally told them to quit and keep her comfortable. She was very strong to the end.The doctors worked hard to help us keep her around and I am not real sure we was thinking about her and not how bad we would feel if this happened.
The minister from here in Charles City went to see her this morning and she sang Jesus Loves me to him and told him he had to sing amazing grace to her.
Now she is at peace.

Darrell: I know all to well what you're saying about CF.

We lost our beloved young friend, Samantha, on June 26th. As I told her family, I regarded her passing as her victory in her long (21 year) battle with CF.

God's plans for Sidney and Samantha have now been revealed. May they rest in peace, having touched more lives on earth then they could ever imagine.

I'm sure you'll experience community support beyond belief during your time of loss. I believe God must put them here, in part, to make us count our blessings. You we're blessed to have known her even though for far too short a time.

Heart-felt condolences to you and your family.

Hi Darrell,
I and Sylvia send our condolences at this sad time, we know what it's like, our Grandson Jordan passed 2 years ago next week and we can't get over it. We will never understand the logic or reasoning behind these things nor can we ever forget, but a great help and consolation is that our extended family in the forum understands our suffering and we are not alone in our sorrow.

Thank you all again.at this time we still do not have Sydney back in Iowa with all the state line protocol. Also my daughter stayed and held her for a few hours afterwards so they probably hinder a little. At least we have services set for Thursday morning.Found out tonight she told her mother about some of her stuff and who it was to go to.She made me a birthday card and do not if I will ever be able to open it.have to wipe away tears in order to finish.
Thanks again
