Pro I Setup

Post by Brian Davis »

Gentlemen,
It's a privelege to join you. I'm a new steeler with a Sho-Bud Pro I late model 6148 with the Super-Pro style undercarriage. I've had a lot of fun with those two knee levers (RKL/e-Eflat, RKR/E-F) for the past year, but I think it's time to step it up a notch to a 3/4 setup. I live in Chicago, a PSG wasteland, and need some helpful advice on making this change. Does anyone know the factory setup for the Pro I model 6160 with 3/4? How about the LDG? I want to keep things nice and traditional here. I've been in contact with Ed Naylor about parts and in our conversation it became clear to me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I hope you guys might share with me advice regarding the possibilties/options for my table and please, don't be afraid to spell anything out. Thanks for your help and patience.

Are you looking for somebody to install the levers, or are you asking what strings should the two new levers lower(or raise)?
I'd guess the most common use for the 3rd lever would be to lower the 2nd string to a D. Some, maybe most, lower it to a C# on the same lever, with a 1/2 stop for the D. The 4th lever is used many, many different ways. I lower my 2nd string to a C#, and raise my 1st string to a G on this lever.....Jerry

Thanks to Tommy Detamore and Paul Carestia for taking the time to break me in to the old boys club. Please close this thread, Bob.
