I'm looking for formal pedal steel lessons in Oklahoma.
At the very least, I'd like to connect with a pedal steel player in the area who is willing to show me the basics and let me ask some questions (how to sit, how to hold the bar, how to put the picks on my fingers, etc). I ordered my first PSG this week and it's the first one I've ever seen up close.

Shaffer... I posted this in your other post on your learning plan. This section is pretty specialized and may not get the attention of the people you want to see it. I think your best bet is to place a post in STEEL PLAYERS looking for other players in your area. Then ask about lessons. The average player is more apt to see the post there than here.

Here's one for you:
Have you contacted Ken Collins?
He's right there in OKC and is an absolute MONSTER picker.
I've heard all the current "stars" and, for my money, Ken is up there amongst them.
He's a great guy and can be contacted here, through the forum.
See ya........Joel

Forget "world peace". Visualize using your turn signals.
