Hey Frank! How's it going, buddy?

We have a couple four day trips in September and a three week run down to Austin in October in the works. I'm sure there'll be a Chicago date in there somewhere.

Definitely hoping to catch you in Seattle. Last time the band was here they were great - but no steel. Really looking forward to hearing the steeled up version!

Brett really channels Ralph Mooney when he tromps that 8th pedal: good times.

Good to see Mike and Brett last night!

And now I'll have to go back to the woodshed myself for a while... gotta try some of those Mooney licks you were telling me about, Brett.

PS - just shot you a friend request on Facebook.

Great gig, Brett. I'm jealous. :)

Do you ever close your eyes and swear you're onstage with Waylon? From what I hear Whitey is the real deal. I play in South Florida with an 'outlaw country' band and we just picked up the '78s arrangement of 'I'm On Fire'. My compliments to the chef(s). And your playing speaks for itself. It is reminiscent of Moon, but you add your own edge. Two thumbs up.

Ride it for all it's worth, hoss. Gigs like that are few and far between. Thanks for giving us local/regional hacks something to shoot for.

Hey Brett... I saw you guys at that place in Huntington Beach CA a couple weeks ago. Went to see my pals the Freight Shakers, your opening act, on my way home from another gig. I was too late for them, but I'm glad I stuck around...you guys were really cool! Wanted to say hey, but I had to leave. Good on ya! Keep up the good work!

I had the pleasure to fill in on steel for the band that opened for Whitey Morgan tonight and the honor to meet Brett and the band. Great guys and a great band. Had a good ol music and gear chat with Brett before and after the show.

Brett was simultaneously channeling Lloyd Green and Ralph Mooney while putting his own touch on that ol sho-bud.

If you get a chance to catch Whitey and the 78's you will hear some good, honest, hard edged, straight shooting honky tonkin, real country music.

Whitey

Post by Brett Robinson »

Thanks guys!

Larry, thanks for the kind words. I definitely love my job with Whitey. I get to pick all night and Whitey is just great and doesn't compromise his beliefs about music to get ahead. One of these days I'm gonna move to Nashville and have me one of them "rude awakenings," I'll find out how spoiled I am pretty quick! "I'm on Fire" is one of my favorite songs to play, we do it a bit different than the version on Whitey's first record and it definitely is a crowd favorite.

Rick, Huntington Beach was great. We had a blast out on the West Coast and your boys, the Freight Shakers, were the highlight, great, great band.

Chuck, it was a pleasure and MY honor to meet yall last night. I had a great time shooting the S#@% and you sounded phenomenal on that purdy Mullen. Hope to see you next time we are in the QC.
